NEWS AND UPDATES: XRP
Real developments this week, none of them about price.
Arf and Ripple announced on October 22 that Arf will bring RLUSD-powered settlement liquidity to the XRP Ledger for licensed cross-border payment companies. Arf says it processes about $10 billion a year in settlement volume. Its plan to use the ledger's native lending tools depends on proposed amendments that have not activated yet.
Swell, Ripple's conference in New York, opens today (Monday, October 26) and runs through Thursday, October 29, with more than 80 sessions on digital finance and the XRP Ledger.
Standard Chartered launched institutional custody for Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin on October 12, through its branch in the Dubai International Financial Centre.

NEWS AND UPDATES: GOLD AND SILVER
Gold. Gold had its steepest weekly decline in more than four months. On Friday it touched $3,975 an ounce, its lowest since July 20, then climbed back above $4,000 on Monday as falling oil prices eased some inflation worries. It was trading near $4,014 early Monday, according to Kitco.
Silver. Silver was trading near $54 an ounce early Monday, up slightly on the day.
The Fed's two-day meeting is underway today, and its decision comes tomorrow afternoon. Kitco reports that interest rate futures point to the Fed holding rates, with the risk of more tightening before year end. Headlines will move the daily price. I would rather watch who is accumulating and what they do when the price dips. China's central bank bought 21 tonnes of gold in September, its largest monthly purchase in three years.
